Michigan College Fair Committee to start in 2022

Are you ready to shake things up?

We’re excited to announce a change happening in collaboration with two of Michigan’s leading professional organizations. With changing student demographics and constant upheavals in the landscape of the college search and admissions process, leaders from the Michigan Association of College Admissions Counseling (MACAC) and Michigan Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers (MACRAO) have decided it's time to shake things up.

We’re implementing a new statewide Michigan College Fairs Committee to best serve the needs of all Michigan students!

For many years we’ve had the College Day/Night Calendar alongside large scale regional college fairs held in convention centers. Both of our organizations have maintained parts of this system, but the time for those things to happen separately has passed. The best way forward is a collaboration that will allow us to retain all our best ideas and resources to build a comprehensive college fair system that best serves college-bound students in Michigan, while also providing the opportunities for outreach to post-secondary prospects that higher education institutions will need going forward.

The committee will start to meeting in January to begin planning the fair calendar for Fall 2022. More details will come as we get underway during the first part of the year.

We look forward to this exciting collaboration of our organizations and we hope you’re encouraged, too!

What about college fairs for Spring 2022?

College fairs for Spring 2022 will continue to be handled by the existing committees: MACRAO’s College Day/Night committee for local fairs and MACAC’s regional fair committees. See this article for information on requesting to host a local fair in Spring 2022.
