Joining MACRAO

The Michigan Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers (MACRAO) connects its members on issues related to the advancement of higher education in Michigan while providing opportunities for professional development.

Our membership year runs from January 1 to December 31. Our organization-based membership format allows each institution to include as many members as they wish. Membership applications are accepted at any time and are reviewed for approval at our monthly Board of Directors meetings. Please note our bylaws do not allow for pro-ration of dues.

Institutional Membership - $150/year

Institutional Membership is available for college-level, degree-granting institutions of higher education whose main campus is located in Michigan. Institutional members must be accredited by an accrediting association approved by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA).

Institutional Membership Benefits:

• Voting rights
• Eligible to attend MACRAO sponsored conferences and workshops
• Login access to our membership website, which includes access to our newsletter and many other features designed to help connect and support our members
• Eligible to participate in the MACRAO endorsed College Day/Night programs
• Institution listing on the public-facing directory of the website
• Individual members are eligible to apply for MACRAO Committee Membership and may be elected to the MACRAO Board of Directors

Affiliate Membership - $250/year

Affiliate Membership is available for a college or organization that provides services to or has established partnerships with MACRAO Institutional Members. For example, corporations, non-accredited colleges, proprietary schools, vendors conducting business with institutional members, agencies, military, out of state colleges (including those with satellite campuses located in Michigan).

Affiliate Membership Benefits:

• Eligible to attend MACRAO sponsored conferences and workshops
• Login access to our membership website, which includes access to our newsletter and many other features designed to help connect and support our members
• Eligible to participate in the MACRAO endorsed College Day/Night programs
• Institution or organization listed on the public-facing directory of the website
• Individual members are eligible to apply for MACRAO Committee Membership, except the Board of Directors Committee

Individual Membership - $50/year

Individual membership is available for individuals no longer affiliated with a MACRAO member institution, as well as graduate students who may have an interest in a career in higher education. Individual membership is not required if your institution is already a MACRAO member; ask your school's primary contact to add you as a member under the Institutional membership instead.

• Login access to our membership website, which includes access to our newsletter and many other features designed to help connect and support our members
• Individual members are eligible to apply for MACRAO Committee Membership

Honorary Membership

Honorary membership may be awarded to Past Presidents of MACRAO as well as individuals no longer affiliated with MACRAO institutions who have given significant service to the association. Honorary membership may be recommended to the Board of Directors by any representative of a member institution. Honorary membership is voted on and approved by the Board of Directors.
